TIMELINE FOR A TYPICAL RESCREEN PROJECT

Removal of all old spline and screen

8:00am - 10:00am


Using what's commonly known as a j-hook, place the j-hook within the spline groove of the enclosure. Pull towards the spline edge to remove a few inches of spline. Then with your hand pull tension on the spline to completely remove it from the enclosure. Once all four sides of spline holding the screen into the enclosure are removed you can then pull the old screen and it should easily remove from the enclosure. You'll repeat this process until all the screen is removed from the enclosure. (hint: neatly stack the old screen flat like paper for easier clean up)

Fill a roller tray with a liner with the epoxy. Cut a line of epoxy around the perimeter of the area to be coated with a 3-inch paintbrush, then paint it into seams and corners.

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED ENCLOSURE RESCREEN AND A HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE DIY KIT?

    Professional Enclosure screen installers utilize high-strength screen not available to the public, but the DIY kit is typically a basic screen, which is a fiber glass screen that's not built to last. There is also a significant difference in the amount and quality of prep work that experienced installers can do.

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FIBERGLASS SCREEN AND POLYESTER?

    Fiberglass screen is made of fiber-glass which is typically thinner and is prone to tear, rip, blowout in storms, or easily be damaged from pets and other occurences. It often loses its color within the first couple years.  Fiberglass screen also loses 90% of its strength within the first 5 years.


    Polyester screen is made to last and can withstand animals pawing at the screen. It withstands heavy winds and storms more efficiently. After 7 years of install the screen only loses 1 percent of it's strength. The average life of polyester screen is 10-20+ years.

    Absolutely. Screen comes in a variety of sorts and brands that vary in price and quality. If you are considering having your enclosure rescreened, be sure that the contractor you choose uses high-quality, fiber-glass free materials.

  • HOW DO YOU GET THE ENCLOSURE READY?

    The process is simple. We remove the old spline and screen from the enclosure and install new spline and screen. Then we clean up and the enclosure rescreen is finished. 

  • WHAT HAPPENS TO THE OLD SCREEN?

    The old screen and spline is bagged and made ready for trash day.

  • HOW MANY YEARS WILL MY RESCREEN LAST?

    Polyester Screen will last without color fade or blowouts an average of 10-20+ years. 


    Fiberglass Screen on the otherhand requires more maintenance and only has an average life of 3-5 years before needing another rescreen. 

  • HOW LONG WILL THE RESCREEN TAKE?

    Prepping and rescreen your enclosure might take up to four days depending on the size of the enclosure and amount of debris covering the roof or spline grooves of the enclosure. Average rescreens take us between 1 and 3 days.

  • WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO USE MY ENCLOSURE AGAIN?

    When rescreen is complete you'll be able to immediately start using your screen enclosure again. 

  • WILL MY PET BE ABLE TO TEAR THROUGH POLYESTER SCREEN?

    Your pets shouldn't be able to tear through the polyester screen. We do have a 1 year warranty that covers any blown out screen within the first year from a pet. 

  • CAN I PRESSURE WASH POLYESTER SCREEN?

    Though we recommend a softwash, polyester screen is known to hold up much better compared to fiberglass screen when pressure washing.
